Fatigue testing with 3D printing application

AV R&D implemented 3D printing technology into design of vibration test jigs for fatigue test of automotive components.

We have successfully used 3D printing technology during our effort to optimize test jigs for fatigue testing of automotive components. 3D printed components have allowed us broad variation of attachment and connection segments and by using this technology we have also reduced test preparation time. We have tested several materials (NYLON, ABS, PLA) and for their application in our conditions we have set their limitations.

3D printing is currently integral part of test jig development and testing in AV R&D testing center.

What about future? Application of the 3D print to design of special testing stand!
